inspira Class Teacher – practitioner training

The focus of this workshop is to help and support classroom practitioners involved in delivering Wider Opportunities (whole class instrumental/vocal tuition) to use the range of award-winning inspira® programmes.

inspira® is a comprehensive music foundation programme complete with termly overviews, lessons plans, assessment models, musical scores and further documents to support teaching and learning. The programme can be used flexibly to reflect your own teaching practice and it works very well if you are team-teaching. The session will explore ways in which the inspira resources can be used to help children to develop their musical and instrumental skills, to listen actively to a breadth of musical styles and genres, to improvise and create their own music and to perform together as an ensemble. There will also be guidance on the practical issues of using the interactive app which supports the materials. Issues such as making connections to other curriculum areas, links to the national curriculum and successful classroom management will be addressed and there will be opportunities to reflect on your own practice and to share ideas with colleagues.
